So the major highlights of the day, we got up at 7 to have breakfast and then went to take a placement test. The test was 4 parts, one of which was an oral interview, it was quite the experience but overall it pretty enjoyable. (not that tests are fun but it was just to see your skill so it wasn't the end of the world). We then went to lunch (yes, the test went from 8 -11:30 but that was because we had to wait for one on one interviews). After lunch we gathered together at the front of our residence to go to a meeting.
At the meeting, all the ground rules were laid out, we were given most of the information we needed and then asked if we had any questions. After all the questions were asked, the countdown began. The monitors (leaders) counted down from ten and once one was reached no more English can be spoken. :(
After this meeting, we had some free time and if I remember correctly, I took a nap :)
Then we had dinner which was spaghetti, (pretty uneventful....)

Then we gathered again, all 106 of us, to walk downtown to join in on the "fête du Canada" celebrations. Apparently we walked 2 km into the downtown core (about 25 minutes walk) and we were then told to go have fun but that minors must return to the meeting point in order to be walked back to campus. My friends and I walked from one end of down town to the other and back in less than 20 minutes.... (yes, it is quite small) But what was going on in the center of downtown was super cool, they had a stage decked out with lights and amps and a group playing music. It was a family affair with kids and adults alike dancing to the music. After watching this for a while, we decided to go to Tim Horton's to celebrate our countries greatness and although the ice capp machine was not working, we were determined like all the others celebrating Canada day to have some Tim's. We conversed for quite some time because nothing was really catching our attention, but when we leave Tim Horton's we realize that the main act of Canada day was on stage: Colin James and let me tell you, he was amazing live and his music was pretty awesome!

We danced around to his music and attempted to sing along until he finished his set and by then it was time to begin walking back to the meeting point.
While walking back to the meeting point, the fireworks began to go off and although it was pretty cool, coming from a bigger city, it was definitely something I had seen before. ( I would love to say that it was amazing, but it wasn't amazing, sure it was fantastic and awesome but nothing compared to English Bay)
I took a video during Colin James' performance and also a little on the fireworks, unfortunately the sound quality for the Colin James' video is bad but I can assure you he was amazing live, even though I've never heard of him prior to Canada day. This was during one of this musical rifts, so there is no singing (just so you know whats happening)

Day 3 (le 2 juillet)- Man vs Moncton (Man vs Mosquitos and Man vs Microwave)
Today was the first day of classes! It was quite interesting but we haven't really learned anything just yet. We just went over our course syllabus and talked about different francophone accents in the Maritime provinces. After class which goes from 8:00-11:30 with a 20 minute break in the middle, we headed to lunch (which again was uneventful, the food was mehhh today). After lunch we got ready to go to the supermarket, but it took us an hour to get on the bus because it was doing shuttles and it got full each time we lined up :(

| One weeks worth of food? |
After spending a good hour at the supermarket, I have all my food for next week as well as mosquito repellent and hydrocortisone cream to help my mosquito bites stop itching (whenever I hear cortisone I think of Mr. Black and biology 12! haha). I would take pictures of my bites but they are unappetizing. One of the back of my calf is actually swelling so much! I had to make an ice pack to treat it. Another one of my bites became this weird red purple colour as if it is bruising ( DON'T WORRY! I'm going to see a monitor about it soon, but in the mean time if it is something bad please let me know!)
Now, I have free time until curfew tonight, so i'm probably going to make some food and do the homework that I was assigned today (booo homework, but yay 6 credits in 4 weeks!!! :) )
Anyway, I may have forgotten to mention to you that, from this day forward, we, as students, must cook our own breakfast and dinner. That is why they brought us to the supermarket but the one problem that we have is that we only have a mini fridge and a microwave.... YOU SEE MY PROBLEM?
I do not want to eat microwave dinner for 4 weeks! Hopefully, I'll have enough energy to take a picture of what I'm having and we shall call it Man vs Microwave. Lets see what I can come up with and if you have any suggestions on easy to make dinner foods in the microwave let me know because I need all the help I can get!
Overall, its been great but right now je suis fatiguée donc je vais faire une petite sieste. :p
